Individual & Couples Therapy
Based In Philadelphia
Meet Your Therapist
Hi- I’m Shoshana & I’m an individual & couples therapist based out of Philadelphia. From a trauma-informed foundation, I use psychodynamic, attachment, and relational perspectives to guide our work. This means we’ll think about how your values, reactions, and behaviors were carried in from the past to understand yourself better. We’ll learn about the creative ways you’ve kept yourself emotionally safe in times of overwhelm or danger, and the world around you. It also means we’ll let the therapeutic relationship teach us how your world works.
The world is a sticky place and, sometimes, it can create confusion, disappointment, or hurt. I approach clients from a non-judgemental and curious place to meet life’s messiness. We’ll talk about it together and commit to learning more to live a different future where you feel safer, better seen, and sturdy.

Therapy is an opportunity to learn more about yourself. Everyone can benefit from therapy because it’s always beneficial to understand ourselves better. You’re never too old to start & you don’t need to be in crisis, curiosity ignites in all different configurations.

I ask that clients commit to 6 months to one year of weekly sessions. Therapy can be weird, meaningful, intimidating, and vulnerable. And it takes time to get to know your therapist, build trust, and settle in. Life is long and time helps us get there.

My therapeutic approach is guided by Psychodynamic Theory, which helps us evaluate childhood experiences, Attachment Theory, which focuses on how we tend to show up and react in our relationships, and Relational Theory, which helps us learn for the connectivity of the therapeutic dyad how you tend to orient towards close relationships. We’ll explore how different systems (work, school, family, relationships, institutions, etc.) effect one another and identify where you need the most support. These strategies for the work we do together will be challenging, insightful, and supportive.

There are a lot of reasons to seek out couples therapy. Most often, couples come to therapy to strengthen frayed communication, reconnect after shifting into parenthood, processing past hurts, restructuring relationships parameters, or all of the others things that can be hard to talk about when you don’t want to and don’t make the time. You don’t need to be in crisis to see a couples therapist. And if you are, come take a seat.

My fee is $170 for individual sessions and $185 for couples sessions. I also offer sliding scale slots for those who need a reduced fee. Additionally, I can provide documentation to be submitted for insurance reimbursement (sometimes called superbills). I also accept HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account).

I’m often referred to as warm, straight-forward, relational, and reflective. I value honesty, while holding space for gentleness and care.
